Brooklyn NY—Making its debut in November 2006, Parker Publishing is seeking to earn a reputation with the reading public and in the publishing industry as a house that produces quality books that are fresh, relevant, entertaining, educational and uplifting.

In less than one year of after the company’s inception, Parker Publishing has already amassed a stable of twenty-two authors, eight imprints and has twenty-four titles scheduled for its inaugural releases. Among the first titles is Vegas Bites: A Werewolf Romance Anthology with L.A. Banks the award-winning novelist of the famed Vampire Huntress Legend series. Also among the impressive list of scribes are: Beverly Jenkins a two-time career achievement award winner from Romantic Times magazine; Angie Daniels winner of the best African American Romance award by the Romantic Times convention; Maureen Smith the Romance in Color Reviewers’ Choice Award winner for new author of the year and romantic suspense of the year.

Quality, coupled with a different way of looking at literature, is how Parker Publishing plans to get ahead. Their editorial mission is comprised of a variety of genres and various imprints. The Noire lines will have sensually erotic romances, historical romances, interracial romances, fantasy romances, science fiction romances, paranormal romances.

The NOLA titles showcase intriguing African American stories that are plot-driven with memorable characters. Some of the genres under this imprint are: Mysteries, Thrillers, Crime, Detective, Action–Adventure, Humor and Chic Lit.

Zora novels highlight fiction that breaks down the genre barriers to tell a human story, explore universal themes, and be provocative. Zora titles are more character driven and offer unique prose that will stand the test of time.

In the Isis imprint, Parker adds to the increasingly popular genre of speculative fiction, which includes science fiction and other paranormal themes.

The Sojourns imprint will be the home of non-fiction titles such as Home Girls Make Some Noise!: Hip Hop Feminism Anthology. Parker will also launch a highly touted self-help series entitled She Ready! which includes the book Work It Girl: A Black Woman’s Guide to Professional Success.
